Stories That Move
I create films that explore the complexities of human nature, relationships, identity, and the choices that define us. My work blends psychological drama with intimate character studies to uncover the emotional truths beneath everyday moments.

About
Maya Karapetyan
I'm a filmmaker based in Montreal with a diploma in Film Production from Toronto Film School.
My work is driven by an interest in psychology, philosophy, and the emotional contradictions that shape human relationships. Rather than focusing on spectacle, I'm drawn to intimate stories where conflict reveals character and ordinary moments carry extraordinary emotional weight.
Whether directing narrative films or creating branded content, I approach every project with the same goal: to tell stories that feel honest, cinematic, and deeply human.
Beyond directing, I enjoy developing concepts from their earliest stages, collaborating with actors, and crafting visual language that supports emotional storytelling.
I'm currently expanding into commercial filmmaking, branded content, and creative strategy while continuing to develop original narrative projects.
